Eraldo Bernocchi

A Map of Memories

Headphone Commute podcast has been going pretty strong. It’s constant and steady, like a flow of these sounds by Eraldo Bernocchi currently streaming out in my room. It’s been over 10 years of these mixes (sorry, I forgot to celebrate!) and we’re now on the 255th episode! I hope you’re keeping up!

Bernocchi is an Italian composer and sound designer with releases going back to 1985. His collaboration in 2017 with Netherworld for Glacial Movements captured our attention, and we’ve invited the artist to curate a label special mix (see Eraldo Bernocchi – Glacial Movements). For Map Of Memories, Bernocchi shares not only his favourites (and mine as well) but also a piece from his most recently released Like A Fire That Consumes All Before It LP out on his very own imprint, Rare Noise. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!

A map of memories through old and new tracks that shaped my sound and feelings. Every time I listen to these tracks I draw an imaginary map. Where have I been until now? And where shall I be next time? Most of my music comes from images and glimpses of places. These tracks stand the test of time and are the sound equivalent of a photograph.”
