Sono Luminus is a US based label, dedicated to performance fidelity in acoustic, contemporary, and modern classical works. The imprint and its amazing ultra-high resolution 9.1 surround recording studio is currently going through a sort of re-awakening, no doubt thanks to a recent appointment of Collin J Rae as the label’s CEO. There are plenty of nice surprises being worked on for the future [I can barely contain myself], but first we have this fantastic release by Nordic Affect, an Icelandic ensemble comprised of Halla Steinunn Stefánsdóttir on violin, Guðrún Hrund Harðardóttir on viola, Hanna Loftsdóttir on cello and Guðrún Óskarsdóttir on harpsichord, performing works by by some of your favorites, such as Hildur Gudnadóttir, Anna Thorvaldsdottir and more, titled Clockworking.

Iceland is one of those countries where the snow seems to melt into music… it’s the only explanation for such beauty in its sound…

Today I am honoured to première a video of the title track by María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir (she is a member of the Icelandic group amiina), video produced by Collin J Rae and Strider Jordan.

You can pre-order Clockworking on Amazon out on July 31st, 2015.
