Selecting our favorite albums of the year is always a chore. It is especially difficult when it comes to compilations. Besides picking out our favorite mixes in each respective genre, we also wanted to highlight the compilations that showcase our favorite labels’ artist roster. Alongside the continuous mixes in techno, dubstep, and drum’n’bass, we’ve got a few fantastic releases in ambient, modern classical, and experimental genres. Enjoy this first entry in our two part feature and leave us a comment or two with your thoughts and suggestions!

Check out Part Two and Honorable Mentions…
Great choices from Ultimae (Fahrenheit Project 8) and Tympanik (EO4)! I’ll have to give the others a listen too.
The newest V/A from Ultimae has just been released too, ‘Amrosia’. A little too late to fit on here I guess but amazing nonetheless; probably a bit better than the Fahrenheit Project comp imho
Yes! I had trouble picking one from Ultimae, but let’s face it, Fahrenheit Project has been almost a tradition now ;)
