Snobo, aka Gosh from Yaputhma, is a Riga (Latvia) based musician, DJ, and most importantly, music lover. With the early 90s spent as a guitarist and singer/songwriter, the late of that decade producing house, jungle, and trip-hop, and the 2000 mostly DJing at Riga clubs and lounges, Snobo eventually slowed down his sets to nearly zero BPM, weaving beatless mixes from his favorite ambient, modern classical, and electro acoustic pieces. Today, Headphone Commute showcases Snobo’s selections for your listening pleasure.
“A Rest From Intention” is a totally horizontal selection of achingly beautiful electroacoustic works, with some old but evergreen ambient post-rock favorites thrown in for a good measure. Otherworldly in general, epic in places, and sometimes intimately lovely. Mixed on a late chilly night, under influence of volcanic ashes flying a few miles above the ground. As usual in such cases, no driving or operating machinery is advised; horizontal position, low lights and Shoyeido (preferably Kin-Kaku) are recommended 😉
