Sound Postcard : 26 : Turks and Caicos

27Dec10

I feel just a little bit lucky. That is as long as my travel plans are not disrupted. Oh well, we’ll just have to wait and see. Until then, I’m still enjoying my vacation. And as the East Coast of the United States is snowed in, I’m enjoying the last few days of my vacation in Turks and Caicos. Here’s a Sound Postcard that I’m sending your way – hoping that these sounds will at least make you feel a little bit warmer during the blizzard.

It is ten o’clock at night. I am standing on the balcony of my hotel, enjoying a warm breeze with a drink in my hand. You can hear the ocean waves crash along the white sand beach. The crickets are singing along with the local musicians performing at a restaurant below. The lower frequencies of the music rise and bounce off the endless pool, into this microphone, and out of your speakers.
