Sound Postcard : Eluvium – Old Roller Coaster

29Nov10

Matthew Cooper, recording as Eluvium, has been at the center of modern classical, ambient, and minimalist piano scene, with his intricate pieces released by Temporary Residence Limited. Recently, we have interviewed Cooper in Headphone Commute’s Two and a Half Questions with Eluvium, where we discussed his recent album, Similes. Today, Matthew has submitted an entry to our growing collection of Sound Postcards, of “a very old, creaking roller-coaster down the road from [his] house”. Enjoy.

without reading the description, this sounds like a child riding a bicycle with an aluminum can on the back wheel through a sewage tunnel combined with the sound one hears while driving a car through an automatic car-wash…boy, was i far off the mark. lol
