Sound Postcard : 006 : Easter Church Bells

04Apr10

I was walking outside, and I heard these church bells ringing… It was then, that I actually realized that it was Easter Sunday. The bells were going on for almost an hour, so I couldn’t help but capture them. In this sound postcard, I am standing next to the First Presbyterian Church, the ringing of the bells reverberates off of the stone walls, and you can hear people shuffling in, all dressed up, for the Easter service at noon.

Sounds like someone is actually playing the bells, right? It’s not mechanical, because I hear a few hesitations. And what is this piece? Bach?
